Want a fun project that works up fast and is beginner friendly, look no more. I found Petit Remy early on in my crochet “career” and, I believe, it was one of my first completed amigurumi projects. Her patterns are easy to understand and follow, even for beginners. I love the striping in this pattern and how quick it works up.
The size hook used in the pattern is a 5mm H hook – which is one of the reasons this works up fast. You use worsted weight yarn in the colors of your choice – remembering that this is a striping pattern, so different colors work great with it. And you’ll want black yarn or safety eyes for the eyes, black yarn for the nose and mouth, a tapestry needle for attaching the legs and ears, fiberfill and a stitch marker and stitch counter.
This pattern is worked all in single crochet stitches, using the magic circle, and also increasing and decreasing stitches. If you have any questions about working in the round, increasing, or decreasing, YouTube is a great place to learn for free.
She also has a cute heart, yetti, and crown pattern you can find here.
My favorite yarn for this is PaintBox yarn or the HobbyLobby brand yarn but your favorite yarn will work.
Have a blast making this pattern!
